Kathleen Horsch

As a Management Consultant and Educator for the Social Service Sector, Kay Horsch offers informed approaches to transformational leadership, resource development, and community engagement to organizations within the non-profit sector nationally and internationally. As an independent consultant and a member of the community faculty of Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN, for twelve years, she has counseled, trained, and assisted numerous institutions and organizations. Her professional and volunteer experiences have brought her leadership responsibilities, as well as speaking and workshop engagements throughout the United States, Europe, South America, China, and Africa. She is deeply committed to a viable, effective and efficient social service sector.

In the course of her 40 years of service within the American Cancer Society, Kay has been deeply involved in the Society’s program and resource development, governance at the local, state and national levels of the organization and is a Past Chairman of its National Board of Directors. She currently serves as an Honorary Life Member of the Society. She is a recipient of the American Cancer Society’s Distinguished Service Award.

She has served on the Council of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), Geneva, Switzerland, 1990-1994; the boards of the United Way of America, Alexandria, VA., 1990-1996; Josephson Institute of Ethics, Marina del Rey, CA, 1990-1995; Youth for Understanding International Exchange, Inc. (Chairman, 1997-2000), Washington, D.C.,1992-2001; Courage Center (Chairman 2000-2002), Golden Valley, MN, 1993-2004; and The National Human Services Assembly, 1995-2009. She is the recipient of the National Human Services Assembly Award for Excellence in National Board Leadership and the Honorary Life Membership Award from the Courage Center.
